Some children do not have aligned or straight teeth and they’ve no choice but to use braces. However, they do have a choice to either use the metallic braces or Invisalign. The later not only looks aesthetic, but it also serves its purpose in less time. Here are the many advantages of Invisalign that you should know before going in for braces. ~ Ed.

Braces were and still are one of the nightmares of children.

Having metal wires tensioned alongside your teeth is not a fun experience to have. Not to mention spending a year or two of your childhood in those metallic teeth-straighteners.

Sometimes using braces is a must. Braces are usually attached to the front teeth; they are fixed in place by using a metal wire that runs throughout their teeth.

Invisalign is used for a more aesthetic approach to fixing teeth; their clean aligners are much less noticeable, less prone to complications, and are much more convenient when they’re used for long-term issues.

You shouldn’t expect Invisalign to easily fit a tight budget that normal braces may fit, the average price for buying or setting them up on both the top and bottom teeth rows may cost you up to $3000.

While you may get the ideal movement using metallic braces, you are certainly not getting the best of looks. Invisalign tackles issues like bites, crooked, gapped, and teeth-crowdedness.

It’s only fair to wish to have teeth that stay strong without failing you while doing the simplest of activities.

5 Advantages of Invisalign

Here are the best advantages that put Invisalign above all competition and show you why it’s probably the best option for you.

Convenience

Since Invisalign was invented to fight back against the ugliness of metallic braces, it was designed to be more convenient than their metallic counterparts.

Invisalign invisible braces help you move your teeth into the right and most practical position gradually without applying too much pressure. The strongest points in terms of convenience are that Invisalign is removable, and this is a very important aspect that must be mentioned whenever Invisalign is mentioned.

You can actually remove the aligners by yourself to eat, floss, or brush your teeth normally.

This may not sound like a luxury unless you’ve tried having food getting stuck in your braces and you’ve spent some time to get rid of it, that is, if you notice it at all. These problems can actually evolve to more serious medical conditions like gum disease.

3D Scanning

Before it even touches your teeth, Invisalign is designed and created using 3D technology.

A digital 3D-scanner makes sure all the little details that go into the creation of Invisalign is obtained unobtrusively and without forcing patients to gag.

Metal braces are very rough around the edges, which makes them very uncomfortable to wear around for a long period of time. Invisalign circumvents around this problem by creating smooth edges that provide you with more control in the teeth-straightening process as well.

You can expect your Invisalign to be created and customized specifically for you.

Invisibility and Confidence

Wearing braces is usually a zap to a teenager’s self-confidence, but you can consider it as the lesser of two evils when compared to dental problems like crooked or protruding teeth.

In young age, self-confidence should be maintained because low self-esteem can cause teenagers to be affected more by negative influences and prone to depression. Based on a 2014 survey, 30% of teenagers didn’t like their smile and were dissatisfied about how their teeth look.

More than half of Invisalign users report feeling more confident during the use of Invisalign compared to only a quarter of satisfied metal braces users.

The invisibility factor of Invisalign makes social situations normal, and when you’re wearing braces for a year or two, you’d love for them to be as invisible as possible.

Works Faster

Most metal braces take an average of two years to straighten teeth completely. Invisalign, on the other hand, takes almost half that time; about 1 year is enough to achieve its full effect.

Not to mention that you can remove it for 2 hours each day to do whatever you want in that time. You are still wearing them for 22 hours a day, but being able to remove them easily for a couple of hours is convenient.

Invisalign can treat a mild case of crowding in about 6 months or less, it can also close a small gap in less than two months, but keep in mind that closing gaps may require a retainer after treatment so they don’t open up again. The more you keep to the 22 hours a day rule, Invisalign should take care of the problem as soon as possible.

Some people have a different dental or mouth structure that takes more time to be fixed than others. There isn’t any way to tell for sure how stubborn is your mouth going to be without first starting treatment.

That is very common with metal braces, it’s more of an estimate on the basis of trial and error. Invisalign, on the other hand, is fully computerized, which makes it easy to accurately guess how long the treatment takes according to deep 3D scans.

Technological Advancement

The modern metal braces were invented more than 200 years ago. They did indeed become more advanced over the years, but they still were very similar to the first versions.

Invisalign was only invented almost 20 years ago, and even though it started with high technological feats, they kept developing it further at a remarkable pace.

Invisalign has a lot of customizable features that make it even easier to wear their aligners. Like SmartTrack material, which gently applies constant force and allows a perfect fit for the aligners on their teeth. And mandibular advancement that straightens your teeth with the aligner and the precision attachments will push your lower jaw a bit forward to treat malocclusion.

Wrapping Up

The social stigma of braces is surely a strong force to compete with when you’re a teen or even when you’re an adult.

There comes a point where you have to choose to treat your teeth using braces or leaving them riddled with problems that may grow and cause you further inconvenience in the future.

Invisalign can help you choose to use braces because of their convenience and inconspicuousness. Feeling confident about your teeth again is going to be truly life-changing.
